The Girls Brigade

The Aim, Motto and Principles of The Girls' Brigade are the same throughout the world.

The Motto :- "Seek, Serve and follow Christ"

The AIM

To help girls become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through self-control, reverence and a

sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life.

 The Principles

    * The Brigade acknowledges Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord according to the Scriptures and seeks to fulfil its aim to the Glory of one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
    * The Brigade witnesses to the standard set by Jesus Christ and gives positive teaching on the Christian attitude to life.
    * The Brigade promotes a just society where all people are equally valued.
    *   Our Company Founded in 1977
    * At present we have 121 girls in our company.
    *  The company is divided into sections. They are as follows:-

    * Ladybirds           under 5 years
    * Explorers        5 - 8 years
    * Juniors             8 - 10 years
    * Seniors           11 -13 years
    * Brigaders          14 - 18 years
    * Associates       19 + years

  We meet on a Tuesday night. Ladybirds and Explorers 6.30pm - 7.30pm

Company Section 6.45pm - 8.45pm

All new members will be made very welcome, including new helpers and officers.

The Programme

LUKE 2:52 forms the basis for The Girls' Brigade Programme, which seeks to develop
members to their full potential.

    * Spiritual
    * Knowledge of the Bible
    * God's wonderful world and Christian Caring
    * My Church (Home and Overseas)
    * Praise and Prayer
    * Physical
    * Netball
    * Football
    * Tennis
    * Keep Fit
    *  Educational
    * Handcrafts
    * Cooking
    * Alcohol and Drug Awareness
    * Singing
    * Service
    * First Aid
    * Healthy Living
    * Indoor and Outdoor Safety
    * Helping Others

  The Brigader section also participates in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

    * 1st year Brigader - Bronze
    * 2nd year Brigader - Silver
    * 3rd year Brigader - Gold.

This also helps gain the Brigader Brooch within the company.
