A BEAUTIFUL IDEA: Women's Voices in Fragile States

A BEAUTIFUL IDEA: Women's Voices in Fragile States

This Sunday (3rd December 2017) is the first Sunday in Advent.

Join us as we launch the annual PCI World Development Appeal. This years' theme "A BEAUTIFUL IDEA: Women's Voices in Fragile States" is the first of a four year programme. The main project highlighted is based in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) - one of the most difficult places to be poor AND one of the most dangerous places to be a woman.

In addition to worship and fellowship you are welcome to join us for a Biblical reflection on the creation of man and woman, based on Genesis 2 v.15-25. There will also be a short video visit to a woman's project in DRC which is restoring hope to familes who have faced the trauma of frequent atrocities, including rape and mass executions and the additional pressure of forced displacement from their homes. Against all the odds our partners in DRC continue their work of breaking the cycle of violence, despair and fear.

You will be most welcome at this special service. Join us for refreshments afterwards.

This year there will be a separate screening of a powerful and moving testimony given by a young woman, Hope (not her real name). However, such is the material discussed in this short interview, it will be screened FOR ADULTS ONLY in Room 4 after the evening service.
