Elders-elect in Preparation

Our recently selected elders-elect have begun the intensive preparation phase prior to ordination and installation in September. Last week they considered aspects of leadership and met with the Commission from the Presbytery of Carrickfergus. This Commission of ministers and ruling elders took time to get to know each of the elders-elect and then questioned them on various apsects of their personal sense of calling and apprehensions. This week, as well as exploring further their leadership responsibilities, the elders-elect began to consider some principles underpinning pastoral care. Next week they will be looking at some pastoral care scenarios before focusing upon some key aspects of the Westminster Confession of Faith.
