UPROOTED: The Plight of the Internally Displaced

This vivid and challenging pictorial exhibition delves into the particualr challenges presented to the world community by internally displace people.

If I flee to another country I am a refugee and will usually have intervention from international agencies, such as the United Nations. However, if I am internally displaced (i.e. in my own country but far from my land and community) I do not have such protections and acutely vulnerable to climate conditions and exploitation.

The exhibition is with us on Sunday prior to its appearing at St. Anne's Cathedral, Belfast.
